Riley at two weeks

We feel so lucky to have such a sweet little spirit in our home. Riley has continued to be our "angel" baby. He has been sleeping up to four hours straight in the night which has been nice for Kalvin and I. During the day Riley sleeps a lot but when he is awake he could care less if he is held or sitting in the boppy. Plus being the second child Riley has already taken lots of overly rough loves from his big brother which he handles surprisingly well. I recently have had to go back to work which I have been dreading. I have a great job where I am gone on weekend nights and Saturday while Kalvin is home. I was really nervous about leaving Riley for the first time even though he is a great baby but he did awesome for his Daddy and Kalvin continues to prove he is Super Dad!
ps. Thanks Jenn for taking some great fun pictures!

Riley Ben Hendricks arrives!

Riley was born November 2, 2009 at 5:59pm. He weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. I arrived at the hospital around 9:30am to be induced. The delivery went great with no complications. Kalvin even did great ( he almost fainted after Taylor was born). We have now started to call Riley our Angel Baby. Between a great nine month pregnancy with hardly no morning sickness, a smooth delivery, and Riley's perfect demeanor- he hardly cries just sleeps and eats plus sleeps about fours hours straight in the night- the name has fit perfect. I guess he knows its just what his parents need!

Riley's first bath with Dad which he liked a little bit!

Riley ready to go home on Wednesday

Happy Halloween!

We had so much fun this Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays now that I have kids. Taylor loved dressing up and being a tiger. We had a trunk or treat at our ward. Sammy and Maddie came a joined in the fun. They loved gathering the candy from all the cars. Taylor would say trick or treat about ten times while he was waiting for everyone in front of him to get candy until it was his turn.

I had to work the actual night of Halloween so Grandpa Hendricks came and took Taylor trick or treating while Daddy stayed home and passed out candy. We got lots of trick or treaters at our house.

Taylor loved painting little pumpkins for all his Grandparents.

Kalvin carved Taylor a Sponge Bob pumpkin.

Finally Catching up!!

Sorry I am such a slacker at blogging. But I am trying to make up for it! Here are the months I have missed blogging. Hope you all enjoy!
MarchAs most of you know in March we found out we are expecting a new addition to our family. I am due on November 9th but have recently found out I am going to be induced on November 2nd or 3rd. Taylor is looking forward to having a new brother. We are going to name him Riley Ben Hendricks.
April
Our house was done being built and we moved in on April 20th. We love having our own place.

May
In May I graduated from nursing school. It is such a relief to be done. Thanks to a awesome clinical preceptor I was able to get through my capstone at the hospital even with morning sickness. A few weeks after graduation I took state boards (the NCLEX) and passed so I am officially a registered nurse!! Thanks for all the support family and friends.

June
We celebrated Taylor's 3rd half birthday. We enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

July
We have been having a summer of fun! Taylor and I got a season pass to seven peaks. We enjoyed many days at the water park.

August

We went to the Bluffdale fire station to visit Uncle Rob. Parker showed Taylor all around the fire station. Taylor loved sitting in the fire truck. We had a great time. Thanks Rob Jana Parker and Macie!

September

We have a duck pond near our house. Taylor loved feeding them popcorn, although I think Taylor ate a lot more then he shared with the ducks.
TODAY!
Taylor loves doing puzzles, especially his mickey puzzles. He is very good at doing them with little help from Mom or Dad. It is the perfect Sunday afternoon activity.

House Update

Two weeks ago we headed down to see the house and we were quite pleased with the progress. Where there was a dirt hole, now there was cement:)

Then about a week later we decided to run down to take a look at the progress and to our surprise something that looked like a house was sitting on top of our hole.

We also got off to a good start with a member in our ward. As we were driving around our neighborhood I was in the back seat behind Missy and Alice (the lady Missy takes care of) was in the front passenger seat. Well we were driving around slow and rather aimlessly and we noticed that someone started to follow us around. As soon as we got to our house we parked and got out and the car that was following us fake parked down the road. Once he saw Missy and Taylor get out of the car he started his car again and pulled up. He introduced himself and told me he thought I was holding Missy hostage. At least we know we are safe now.

My Valentine

Just wanted to post this to show the world what a lucky guy I am. The past few weeks have been kind of crazy to say the least. Missy has been my hero lately. She has been doing so well in school. I am very proud of her. She somehow manages to take care of Taylor, take care of me, get straight A's in her insanely difficult school, work a trillion hours every week, and all the while looking drop dead sessy. I have been moving our stuff out of our apartment and into storage and going to work myself. Taylor has been very sick these days. He had a severe ear infection so we have been having to get him back to his normal active self (he is doing worlds better thankfully). Needless to say we have been busy. Anyway, Missy had to work on Valentines Day and the day before and after. Our plan was to go on a date the following week on Monday. We were going to take Taylor to see "Bolt." However, when Monday rolled around I got caught up moving stuff and cleaning our apartment which took way longer than expected. I felt so down in the dumps because I was so looking forward to taking Missy and Taylor out for the night. I didn't end up getting home until 8:30ish. When I got home, Missy told me to go get in the shower (I thought I must have stunk or something). When I got out she told me to get dressed because we were going out. So I got ready and Missy took me to go see "Yes Man" and she bought me a Dr. Pepper and some Pistachios (she knows the way to my heart). She also gave me a nice massage during the whole movie. I had such a great time with my sweetheart. It meant the world to me that she took care of me that night. She is the best person in the world which should come to no surprise to all you who know her. Love you Missy.

Boys Night Out...Go Jazz!!!

Missy has been hard at work studying and taking her finals at school, so Taylor and I decided to take a boys night out. We got lucky and scored some Jazz tickets. We had a great time. We were on the first row in the upper bowl right on the ledge, and luckily we had about ten seats to ourselves for Taylor to run around. His favorite part of the game was watching the Jazz mascot "The Bear" run around shooting silly string on fans. We ran into uncle Scott at the game, and he stopped and chatted with the Tay man. The Jazz won, but I would imagine Taylor could'nt care less.

Lost and then found treasures

So I had been wondering where all of Monkeys little toy cars had went then yesterday I saw him playing with the last one he had. He then drove it right under the stove. I decided I had better pull out the drawer and see if I could get it out. To my amazement there all the lost cars were. We found 14 total. I then told Taylor he needed to take them to the car wash before he could play with them after seeing how gross it was under my stove. After washing them, as you might have noticed, he drove one right under the stove again so he only has 13. I showed Kalvin all the cars and he thinks some of them aren't even ours but might be from previous tenants, seeing how we live in a rented apartment! I got a kick out of this and thought you might to. So after reading this check out under your stove. Who knows what treasures you might find!!

Our new HOLE!

We are super excited. This big hole will one day, hopefully soon, be our new home! Thats right we are building a house. Kalvin and I are looking forward to being out of the apartment life. No more 4 flights of stairs, sharing a wall with super loud neighbors, pizza in our breezeway, and cops daily stakeing out the parking lot. Plus finally Taylor will have a whole house to run around in which he will love. They estimate it will be done on April 5. They started digging on January 19th. I will be interested to see how close they come to the esimated date.

Taylor Turns 2
Taylor's hobbies include: Climbing on things, jumping off things, running through our apartment, putting his hands in dirty things, and pulling everything out of draws and off shelves. He loves Mickey Mouse, Nemo, and Toy Story. He says lots of words and is very friendly. He loves to wave and talk to everyone when we go out shopping. His favorite food is pizza and peaches.

We are so blessed to have our little Taylor in our lives. Kal and I can't believe we have had him for a whole two years. They have been the most exciting and fun. He brings so much joy to our lives.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The Hendricks family had an awesome Christmas. I enjoyed a nice break from school, Kal enjoyed a break from work, and Taylor enjoyed lots of time with Mom and Dad. We also had a great time with all of our extended family. We were all so spoiled with tons of fun gifts. Taylor loves all the new toys and I love his new outfits and Pjs. Thanks to all of our family and friends. We are so blessed to have each of you.
Christmas Fun
As a family we were able to go see the drive through lights at Thanksgiving Point. Taylor loved them. He was up on the dash board the whole time pointing and saying "OOOH PRETTY HEIGHTS!"

We had so much fun picking out just the perfect Christmas tree!

These are some pictures from Halloween I never posted! Better late than never. Enjoy!
