Jelly Bean

On November 2nd Riley our little Jelly Bean turned one. We are so happy to have such a sweet baby or should I say toddler in our home. Riley is such a happy and content kid. He puts up with lots of tough love from his big brother. Riley enjoys playing with toys and trying to keep up with Taylor. Riley is 30 inches long 20.5 pounds. He has a mouth full of teeth that he loves to bite people with, yes we are working on that. I love Riley's bald head, we were in primary a few weeks ago and one of the little girls asked, "What happened to your baby's head, all his hair fell out." Riley fits right in with the family he loves to sleep like Taylor and I. He goes to bed along with Taylor at 7:30 and gets up aournd 8:30!
We love you Riley!

Summer Fun

This summer we were able to get our back yard put it. We got a sprinkler system, layed sod, and even got a trampoline put under ground. The boys and I spend most our days outside. They both enjoy swimming in our mini pool. The new trampoline has brought many new neighborhood friends that Taylor has loved playing with!

Taylor has loved going for rides on
Grandpa Hendricks new motorcycle

We called in the pro to help us with our garden!

Family Pictures

We finally got some family pictures taken, it was back in March but I finally got a chance to post them. I think they are pretty fun- especially the ones of Taylor-he turned out to be the most photogenic.

There have been some changes in our family, never a dull moment around here. Kalvin is back in school for the second semester since I finished. He did really well in his classes. I am super proud of him being able to balance his full time job, being with the kids while I am working, and staying up with all his homework. I just recently started yet another new job as a nurse. I started my first RN job in January but they made some crazy changes with staffing so I had a huge patient load to manage so I thought about looking for a new job. I was putting it off because its a pain to be looking and then training again but it just so happened that one of my good friends from school called me and said they were looking at her work. It happened to be a place I worked as a CNA and loved it. I went in and my old boss rehired me as a RN. I am super excited to have yet another change in jobs. Kalvin was teasing me because I am always changing jobs. He figured out I have had 14 new jobs since we met a little over 5 years ago! Crazy i know. So I was wondering how many jobs have you had? Is it bad to have so many if you leave them all on good terms?

We are all better! YIPEE!

You would never guess by this smile Riley was so sick. He is finally all better. RSV was really scary. I hope none of my kids get it again or any of your kids get it period. Taylor and Riley are excited to get back to the real world and play with their friends and cousins. It was hard on all of us being quarantined to the house for the past three weeks.

Tay loves showing off his big muscles!!

Riley is a proud owner of a $250.00 nebulizer

Angel Baby caught RSV
I think these are the saddest pictures ever!
So last Thursday night Riley started coughing and throwing up. The next day he still continued to throw up and his cough got worse. The nurse side of me decided to pull out my stethoscope and examine Riley. Of course I did just graduate and hardly know anything about anything but I heard lots and lots of junk rattling around in his lungs. I called the doctors and made an appointment. The kids regular doctor was all booked for the day so I decided to see another doctor. We arrived at the doctors and ended up waiting in the waiting room for over an hour. Taylor was running wild and Riley was crying. We finally got called back to the examine room -I was happy thinking we were finally close to see the doctor, ha not so lucky, we ended up having to wait an additional half an hour in the examine room! By the time the doctor came in my nerves were shot from trying to keep Taylor out of trouble and Riley from crying. I explained to the doctor that Riley had been throwing up all day and the night before then she listened to his lungs and examined him. She then said, "yeah he doesn't sound so good. Do you know what a humidifier is?" I was thinking lady are you joking of course I know what that is and thats all I can do for my little sick baby? Anyhow we went home at that. Riley continued to throw up and sound really congested. But the weird thing is Riley still proved he is the angel baby. He wasn't super fussy and still was super smiley. I finally took him back to the doctors on Tuesday when it was confirmed that he has RSV. They got us set up with a nebulizer treatment to do at home. The poor kid has to sit for 10-15 minutes with the mask on. But being the Angel baby that he is he hardly cries during his treatment and mostly sleeps. He is doing much better and keeping his milk down even after only being on the medication for a day!

Riley's Blessing Day

On January 3, 2010 Riley was blessed. Kalvin gave Riley a beautiful blessing. Riley was really good too. One of our friends said Riley was just staring at all the men in the circle the whole blessing. I am so grateful we have the priesthood in our home and that Kalvin was able to preform such an important blessing for Riley.

I took Taylor and Riley to the doctors this Monday. Taylor went in for his three year appointment and Riley for his two month appointment. Taylor weighed in at 33 pounds and Riley at 13 pounds. Taylor is still in the 95 percentile in height and Riley is in the 85. We might have some tall boys! It was nice to be able to take them both in at the same time but rough to have to have two kids getting shots. But they both did good. I love all my boys!!!
